i own this book but can never finish it! there’s just so many words hahahahaha. like, it rambles a lotttt.

i know what you mean! its very wordy but i feel like the style of his prose matches the subject matter…  the loftiness of the ideas in the novel couldn’t properly be explained with a more traditional style

its an awesome book! the author tom wolfe really got to know and understand ken kesey and his group of merry pranksters, who were these west coast hippies who experimented with acid and roamed around the US in a van. its so well written and amazing for anyone interested in psychedelics. you really get to know kesey and the other characters and what makes it cool is that its all real. they all had some amazing ideas about life and the psychedelic era of the 60s was so exciting and interesting in itself.
